LongCast

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 5, 2026

LongCast is a free weather website. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

  • Searches. The cities and dates you look up, used to show you weather. We don’t link searches to your identity.
  • Your location (optional). Only if you tap “Use my current location.” It’s used once to find your nearest city and isn’t stored.
  • Account details (optional). If you create an account: your email, name, and the places, dates and trips you save.
  • Saved items on your device. Without an account, saved items stay in your browser’s storage on your device.
  • Basic technical data. Like browser type and IP address, which web servers and our ad partner receive automatically.

Advertising

We show ads from Google AdSense to keep LongCast free. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads based on your browsing.

You can opt out of personalized ads at Google Ads Settings, or learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can also opt out of many third-party ad cookies at aboutads.info.

Cookies

We use essential storage to keep you signed in, remember saved items and remember your cookie choice. Advertising cookies are set by Google. If you choose “Essential only,” we ask Google to show non-personalized ads.

Weather data

To look up weather, we send the city’s coordinates (not your identity) to Open-Meteo and, for U.S. alerts, the National Weather Service.

Sharing and selling

We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with the services that run the site (hosting, sign-in, ads) as described here, or when required by law.

Your choices

  • Change your cookie choice above at any time.
  • Remove saved items any time on the Saved page.

Children

LongCast isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do.
